Leave-in or rinse-out? How to choose on any given day
The same tube can do both. Here’s how to decide when you’re standing in the bathroom with wet hair.

Gold Re-Set works two ways. Used in a small amount, it stays in your hair. Used in a larger amount, it sits for two or three minutes and rinses out. Neither one is the “right” way. They suit different days.
Choose leave-in when
Your hair feels fine and you just want it softer and easier to comb. You’re short on time. You’re about to blow-dry. You’ll wash your hair again in a day or two anyway.
After shampooing, towel-dry until your hair stops dripping, then press a small amount between your palms and work it through the mid-lengths and ends. That’s all. There’s nothing to rinse.
Choose rinse-out when
Your ends feel rough or straw-like. You’ve just colored or bleached your hair, or spent a week in the pool. You’ve got a few minutes to spare.
Apply a more generous amount evenly through towel-dried hair, leave it for two to three minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Comb it through while it’s on and the rinse will feel easier.
A simple way to mix them
Many people do best with leave-in most days and a rinse-out treatment once a week. If your hair starts to feel heavy, cut back on the amount before you cut back on how often you use it.
